Speaking Through the Silence

From the moment I lost my son, Harry Boy, to suicide, I knew I couldn’t stay silent. The pain was unbearable—but the silence surrounding suicide was even louder. I realized that if I didn’t speak, the stigma would. And stigma tells lies.
It tells us that grief should be hidden. That suicide is shameful. That asking for help is weakness.
But I know better. I’ve lived the truth. And I speak because I want others to know it too.
I speak to honor my son’s life—not just the way he died.
I speak to remind others that mental health is not a character flaw.
I speak so that no one else feels alone in their loss, or afraid to seek help in their pain.
Speaking doesn’t erase the grief. But it transforms it. It turns pain into purpose.
And it turns stigma into strength.
🕊️ September is Suicide Prevention Month
This is a time to raise awareness, break the silence, and remind each other that help and hope are always within reach. If you or someone you love is struggling, know that you are not alone.
