Founded by Mary Tor, Students Without Mothers is more than a scholarship program. It’s a community woven from empathy, strength, and hope. We support high school students who've lost their mothers by offering financial assistance and compassionate guidance as they continue toward higher education.

Our Story
At Students Without Mothers, we believe that no young person should have to give up on their dreams because of loss. We are dedicated to supporting high school students who have lost their mothers, whether through death or other heartbreaking circumstances, by giving them the tools and resources to continue their education and build a bright future.
Our primary mission is to provide college scholarships for these resilient students. Each recipient is awarded a $4,000 scholarship (disbursed as $1,000 annually) to help cover the costs of higher education, as long as they continue to meet the renewal criteria.
This is more than just financial assistance. It is a message to each student that they are seen, valued, and not alone. With your support, we can continue to turn tragedy into opportunity, one scholarship at a time.
Scholarship applications open September 1 – January 31 each year.
Fundraising Events & Community Support
